This film is Silence of the Lambs meets Sinister with neither the follow through nor fear factor of either film it tries to imitate. The visuals were stunning, and the first two parts set the film up to truly be a horror masterclass, yet the heavy exposition and quick, predictable wrap up of Part 3 leave so much to be desired.
For a film marketed as the scariest of the decade, I slept far too well after viewing, and instead left the theatre wishing the film followed through on more of its promises.
