This film is a masterpiece and heavily underrated. Some people say it's average, some people say it's just a rehash of Tarantino's work, but honestly it's its own thing and original as the story and characters involved. Acting is superb, funny and gets you in engaged in so many levels of emotions while watching fantastic action sequences and dialogue in many different areas. To be honest most of the film doesn't look like made up set-pieces but actual real places they shot in so I am intrigued as to the ratio of how practical it actually is. Back to the acting - this has to be the best if not in the top tier of Willem Dafoe's acting skill tree alone. He literally composes the story. I think one of the reasons this didn't perform well is due to the fact that it is way ahead of its time and in my opinion better than most of Tarantino's work if we are comparing quality. Tarantino to me is best at vengeance films (Django Unchained, Kill Bill & Jackie Brown are my picks) but anyway, definitely check this film out if you've read this far and you can decide for yourself whether the Boondock Saints are good or not (you'll see what I mean by the end credits) :) enjoy
