From the chilling sound design to the interesting camera work, On the count of Three made me feel like I was along for the ride with Val and Kevin. The way they handled the ending with the camera slowly panning out was phenomenal, the way Kevin and Val’s backstory was revealed as they talked to more people in town made me feel like this was a show and I had been watching them for seasons, like I really knew their friendship through and through, and just the dynamic our two leads had made everything feel so real. I couldn’t help but shed a tear for Kevin. Amazing movie and I hope to see more like this, tackling the issue of men’s mental health.

For the most part I really enjoyed this book! It gave me the twists and the turns, the actions and the clues, and it was truly an amazing ride with Monica and Ginny. The only thing that upset me was who the culprit of the murders ended up being—it felt like it came out of no where. The murderer wasn’t mentioned that often in the book, and when they were, I never got any killer-vibes. The ending had me saying “It was them!?” Instead of a “How didn’t I guess this!” Because I didn’t see any clues pointing to them in the beginning or throughout the book. They weren’t suspicious at all. However, the plot twist about who killed the girls who were driving was AMAZING. It all makes total since and doesn’t stray too far away from the character (in other words it’s believable and had already been set up with backstory and different reactions. I was very satisfied.)
