This movie seems to be about three movies in one. While the recreation of 1920s Hollywood is fascinating the endless excess of spectacle and the length of this movie ruin its chances of being called ‘great’. Scenes such as the upper crust party where Margot Robbie disgraced herself could be cut without any loss of the narrative. Wonderful performances by Robbie and Pitt are lost trying to compete for space in the orgy of self indulgence. Where was the editor?
