I just loved this book, It’s one of my favourites along with Ancestor Game and The Sitters Journey into Stone Country I have always thought that made into a film would also be marvellous! And I have wondered whether Alex would contemplate writing about the daughter and her passage through time, possibly growing up in Aus or moving around the globe in an attempt to meet her mother or to reestablish contact with her Knowing Alex’s tendency to leave endings up in the air. He could a book as a sequel I would love to know what Alex felt about this suggestion …….? A couple of Years after he wrote Conditions of Faith I attended a workshop and was then so impressed by his ability to address a person as though he were speaking with the only person in the room. I always meant to write to him but left it unsaid. This is not exactly a review
