My Daemon is a great show with a compelling story, heartfelt moments and realistic characters. It's not super original generally speaking, but I would argue that no show has to be to good, because My Daemon utilizes its genre really well. It starts a bit slow, but builds up quickly after you get introduced to Kento and his cute daemon companion Anna. Don't let the main character being a kid keep you away from this show either! There's a reason why he is and its NOT because the show is targeted towards children (its surprisingly quite graphic). Watching this show, you grow attached to Kento and Anna quickly and I was on the edge of my seat stressing about what would happen to them and what Kento/Anna would do. He's a really smart kid way beyond his years and his loyalty towards Anna is super endearing. The world building and CGI was also pretty amazing, and I give a lot credit to the studio for making it work so well. PRAYING for season 2 because this is a completely original show for Netflix!

For those planning to watch this, let me just say in advance that it is a "adult movie that even kids can watch" kind of film so a lot of the edgy scenes have been downplayed . But to give this movie some justice: No it is not the best quality film, I felt like some of the scenes felt a bit fake BUT it is still an enjoyable movie to watch. The amount of wit, action packed scenes and likeable characters makes up for what it lacks in return.
