Superbly acted coming-of-age drama that moves at a relentless pace at times like some of the chess moves. Beth Harmon is the intense emotionally damaged and not always likeable protagonist obsessed with playing a better and better game of chess and her own self destruction simultaneously. Skilful art direction, sets and costuming so true to the Mid 20th Century period as is the winning soundtrack.
Who ever thought chess could be so sexy?
