I’ve only watched the pilot of the show so more will be revealed as I stay with the episodes on Netflix. When I saw that Jerry Bruckheimer: Executive producer for the first 26 episodes, I knew I wanted to watch the show. He’s been an amazing producer on past TV series which gives this show credit. I’ve read some of the reviews and maybe they’re right about the action scenes and does everything look real but it’s all fiction. There is something to learn in a TV series about men and women, stress, loyalty, better ways of doing things in life. That’s why I now watch TV: what can I learn, what is entertaining, does it have meaning that can be taken into the real world. Good job everybody. Good luck for the future. Keep those men and women working. Everybody gets a job. I’m glad to see behind the scenes of hotshot fire crews. It’s a tough job all round.

While some viewers are “confused” by Marc Warren’s non-Dutch accent. He’s British and he’s a wonderful Van der Valk. I never saw the previous episodes or seasons. I live in the USA and enjoy British Police procedural TV shows. Almost all of them. And I’m enjoy the current season of Van der Valk. Thank you everyone involved in producing this wonderful show. Call me superficial, but Marc Warren is delightful Visual feast for the eyes. And a wonderful actor.

I watched the trailers and thought I would not like the show. So what a nice surprise to really enjoy the series. Well, I’ve watched the first four episodes by binge-watching in a few hours. Like others wrote, sometimes I didn’t catch the drift of the conversations but it was enough to understand what was going on. I think it could be a good bet for a 2nd series. I’ve been able to binge watch the show because I have PBS Passport in the US. I am so grateful. I would have a hard time waiting week to week for the next episode. I was also glad they referred to the American movie, SPOTLIGHT, which was so well done. Maybe everything is behind the times. I don’t know or care. I watch TV for entertainment. I watch documentaries to learn. PBS is great at both here in the US. Thank you BBC for producing a great series of entertainment.
