Some stylish elements but who wants to watch 2 hours of childish shootouts out of a 2 1/2 hour long movie. There is beautiful cinematography of the City of Lights Paris but it is wasted with cliché dialogues and a silly plot. How sad that our youth are only given such insanely violent movies as entertainment instead of real human stories. Could it be influencing all the mass murders? Why create such implausible action as a man falling down 3 floors then getting up and killing 40 people then being pushed down 252 steps and getting up again and killing another 40? Overall the wooden Keanu Reeves with a wig that barely moves kills at least 400 people with many different guns and some slings. If you like that then you must be the reason the movie got high ratings despite its tragically flawed premise. Oh and with all the mayhem and car chases even around the Arc de Triomphe, the Police never show up anywhere so these sci-fi like characters do as they please in each city they go to even organizing an elaborate duel in front of Paris’s highest monument, the Sacré Coeur! Laughable but I guess for a teen audience used to Marvel nonsense maybe believable! At least the ending is reasonable.

In the spirit of such memorable 2010’s films as Moonlight, Roma, Gravity, La La Land, Green Book and Get Out, Parasite will long be remembered as one of the best films of the decade. The acting is memorable and you identify with each character. The plot directed masterfully by Korean Director Bong Joon Ho keeps you mesmerized and glued to your seat for over 2 hours through humorous as well as tragic scenes, though the ending may upset some as it is far removed from a traditional ending. Don’t miss it, you will be riveted and stunned by the images and a scathing look at class divide, especially if you see it in a theater, not at home or on a plane. Also, do not read reviews of the film that may give away too many surprises, enjoy the perfect flow of the scenario. No wonder it won the Palme D’Or at Cannes in 2019.
