Just two words. Austin Butler. The young actor is mesmerizing as he embodies the talent and sex appeal of The King and deserves an Oscar nom. Loved the scenes including the Black music legends who showed why Elvis was so transformed by the power of gospel. My only criticism is Tom Hanks was miscast- the weird accent and makeup were distracting.

Kudos for the much lauded authenticity of the sets and the immediacy of the one-shot takes, which together transport us to a fantastical Nordic, pagan world 1000 years old. But what most hooked me was Skarsgård's ferocious/tender journey that proved you can change your destiny. Oscar-worthy magic.
