Story about a kid who got dumped decided to adopt a dog. An irresponsible dog owner who allowed his dog to run the show instead of the owner. Missed his own graduation from a school his parents paid for and did not even bother to show up. This graduate has no direction, no clue of the adult world yet his dog ran him. No leash. Makes his parents yield to his whims of his dog. Then when his dog runs off, is heartbroken? He is also a horrible communicator to his parents in regards to his health. But now is so concerned about his dog. His parents do more to enable their directionless child graduate in looking for his dog than he does. In the end the dog is found, the child graduate is not even using his $60,000+ degree as his is doing kayak tours in Chile. Money well spent(not). The dog Gonker probably lives with the responsible parents. And to think this is a true story. Hopefully the child graduate paid his parents back of the college degree investment. A snowflake and his enabling yet responsible parents but coddled him.
