I went through adjustment issues with Garcia-Rulfo’s casting. Mickey Haller is a multi-generational Los Angelino. And although his mother was latina, he was not raised out of country—and does not have a first language accent. But the backstory introduced helped me settle into the great character Garcia-Rulfo projected. After the first season, I am very satisfied with how Michael Connelly’s stories are told. Great writing and, for the most part, good casting. However, I am still not convinced in the casting of Angus Sampson as Cisco. Dennis 'Cisco' Wojciechowski is a leather-clad monster of a man with iron-physique. I’ve always imagined Adam Baldwin in that role and I still do.
