PS4 - Tales of Arise (disc version) - Sept. 2021
I was really excited that a proper jrpg was arriving to the PS5. Patiently I waited - ignoring previews and demos - I wanted to step into this game with clear eyes. Here are the Cons for me
Cons: Very long beginning offering little or no variety of new attacks, weapons, or armor. I feel this is because u need to work for (CP Points) that are used to open new attacks
Cons: You cannot buy health recharges, etc early on - so if u fail on a boss u have to start over
Cons: no proper auto-save so if u pass a boss and don't save u will start at wherever u was before u fought the boss
Cons: maps are confusing and require u too search for the names of the location u want to travel to.
Cons: During certain scenarios (fast travel) is disabled forcing you to travel thru areas that will reward you very little if none for battles invested in.
Pros: ps4 (disc version) will load into a PS5 and give you a free PS5 upgrade.
Pros: controls are semi smooth and battles can be quick or semi technical
Pros: able to skip thru about most long cuts scenes
Pros: Companion Ai is quick enough to heal and revive the character u are playing with
Pros: Beautiful, smooth, enjoyable battles,
Please this this with a grain of salt as I was comparing this to something like Tales of Vesteria which I found the battles to be more enjoyable and rewarding
