I have never seen the original version. But this 1997 production is outstanding. If you want a look at America, just as it is, and just as it is not, see this film. In microcosm, this brilliant screenplay, brilliantly acted, captures just about every dimension and every personality that one might meet in the Unites States of America; the melting-pot country.

For me this is one of the most moving, and important films, I have ever seen. Everyone involved in creating and producing this masterpiece, should be honored, over and again.
