Awful. There is no chemistry among the characters and especially none between the 2 characters they’re trying to convince the audience are attracted to each other. In just a few episodes they’ve had more than one person overboard. A romantic triangle devolving into a really gross threesome. The sickest people on any ship. It is completely unbelievable, unwatchable, shiny and garbage. It could have been so much more but the writers and their instructors don’t seem to know what they’re aiming for and it really shows.

This is among the worst shows Disney has ever put its name on. The episodes don’t have much of a plot, the mistakes in logic are easily pointed out by an 8 year old (“why didn’t he put his shoes on after he cut his foot?”) and Bratty, Obnoxious Children belong nowhere on tv or in a movie. I watched the first two episodes to see if my impressions from the first episode were wrong—-they weren’t. This is bad. Really bad.

#netflix Dear Netflix, Is it the impression of your staff that most of the world is harbouring secret sociopaths? WHY do you think anybody wants to watch 2+ hours of a movie with big names that only has 30 minutes of story, features nails being pulled out (despite the warning at the beginning we didn’t expect this), psychotic vendettas in numerous countries, shooting, more shooting, …………..??? Jeez Netflix, I can tell you why you’re losing money. It’s very simple: quality = viewers. You’re plumbing the poles of Hallmark Movie schmaltz and No Plot Psychopathy. Frankly, after the last few years we’ve all had enough of public psychopathy. Are the performances good? No idea, it’s hard to tell when there’s no real plot or story arc, only a slight incline, 2 hours of ridiculous nonsense and then, ____________. This movie is complete garbage which is too bad because I like all the actors and this is a disservice to both viewers and those who got paid to make it. At least they got paid for wasting their time although I must wonder if they’ve found the end result embarrassing a la Heaven’s Gate.

Just what the world needs, one more slow, dark and boring depiction of a situation in which a child will be forever traumatized by the events of their (fictional) life because of adults who won’t be adults. Death, incarceration, child abuse, drugs, addictions, poverty—it’s got it all and MORE. It’s bad enough that the events happen in real life everyday, we KNOW it happens every day, using the subject matter as entertainment has been done to death. The child’s performance is excellent, Juno Temple is very good, the rest — bleh. Don’t waste your time.

Could have been good, it’s not. Could have been funny, it’s not. Could have had character development, it doesn’t. Could have reined Adam Devine in, make him act instead of a recreation of every goofball character he always presents—Nope. Netflix better get their act together and choose what they want to fund far better than they have for the last 3-4 years. The Outlaws is just another stab in the dark trying to rely on name actors rather than a good script and performances.
