I hated the truth of this story. I am a preacher's kid. Growing up like a bug under a microscope. The God I believe in is not who is portrayed in this so-called religious cult therapy program! I am reminded of a poem my father taught me as a child. It said "Has God deserted Heaven and left it up to you/ to judge if this or that is right and what each one should do?/ I think He's still in business and knows when to weld the rod/ so when you're judging others just remember you're NOT God."
Daddy was a wise man and I believe God is compassionate and loving to all. E.E. Cummings said, "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. which any human being can fight and never stop fighting." Be who you are. Love yourself enough to know you do not have to fit to belong. I am a square in a round world, but I love myself enough to know I am okay. And if you are reading this, you are OK too.
