I was on the edge of my seat the entire time while watching this! The first two episodes were incredibly gripping and that's how I knew i was going to be absolutely hooked. They seriously gave us no clue or predictability as to who the killer could be, and that was amazing! I mean the whole "everybody is sus" vibes was nailed to perfection here.
*SPOILERS AHEAD FROM HERE*
I love all the characters! even the villains (minus Sa Jungyeong, I can't stand any characters who indulge in s*xual assault), which is strange because I'm usually always on the hero's side in everything I watch. I do think that all the characters were very well written. Ji Sooheon is my favourite! Poor boy suffered so much though, probably one of, if not the saddest character ever written in a TV series.
Chanmi is a badass, even though it took some time to see that side of her, i liked that. She was obviously very traumatised by her brother's death and desparate to find the killer, and she was only 18/19, I like how they made her a normal teenage girl rather than some eccentric geniuses we see in some other shows. It's realistic! (That scene where she beat up Jihyun...INCREDIBLE WORK YOU GO GAL)
I always knew Jaebeom had something to do with this murder thing the moment he came back to school. He has amnesia, of course now we must find out what happened to him in the past! But as the show went on my suspicion of him reduced and diverged to people like Sooheon and Osung. Which is why when the plot twist happened, i was surprised, but also not too much, because there was no way Osung was the killer as that would have been too obvious. And he is not the kind of person to do his own dirty work. Jaebeom, however indirectly, being the killer, is perfect! i would have been mad if it was Sooheon tbh lol after all the romantic and sweet moments between him and Chanmi, don't think i could have handled him being the killer.
However, the last two episodes could have been a lot better. I think they left a lot of things unexplained, possibly so that we can have our own interpretations, but some of them were important to the plot and should have been answered. For example, how was Osung friends with the other three boys and suddenly he turns on them? We know he was a psychopath, but that doesn't explain why he turns on Wonseok. Wonseok seemed like a nice guy, he has his own little secret about his sexuality, why would he exploit Osung for simply kissing his step sister? It made me think that Osung is just overly paranoid.
I do wish we saw more flashbacks to the past to explore more dynamics between the boys. I was even expecting some to be honest, especially with the polaroid pictures shows several times throughout the show.
There was another thing I found strange: Is white shows with red laces every boy's standard for fashion in this community??? We knew the reason why Sooheon wears them, but what's the reason for Osung and Jaebeom to wear them? But maybe it's just a nitpick. It doesn't matter much.
Overall, i give this a solid 9/10. One of my favourite shows I've ever watched! It's totally my type of stuff :)
