I’m sorry you just can’t sell a middle aged Jessica Chastain as an assassin for hire that is a martial artist and hand to hand combat trained killer. It was painful watching her running, looked like she had never ran a day in her life, which she probably hasn’t. She gets in a fight in one scene, and has to rescue Common who is at least 6 inches and 50lbs heavier. Hollywood keeps pushing the gynocentric imperative, but getting the audience to believe a middle aged woman with the definition to match that’s an Assassin just isn’t going to work for me. There’s some big names in this movie, but again the wrong ones, John Malcovich is in his 70’s and not a fighter. It was better than staring at the wall, but not by much.
