All of you people leaving negative reviews, you should be supporting this film and just stopping after "My wife and I watched this lesbian film" and that's it. The fact that this film had a major studio backing and you were able to watch it at all is something great. Yes, I am old, but I remember when we had to fight just to have lesbians in films that weren't murderers or weird friends on the side. You have no idea what it was like. By leaving negative reviews, you risk the next lesbian that comes along wanting to make a film with big backers. Seriously, support other lesbians like this director and filmmaker.
You see 4 days out of a year of a relationship where Harper is acting like a jerk. You didn't see the other 365 plus days of their relationship enough to call it toxic. She acts badly, but she does love her and they are in love. Are you you negative people really saying if your partner acts bad for a few days you run for the hills? Relationships are messy and hard and this one is no exception, but let's not pretend we saw their whole year together enough to judge their relationship.
This is a great film with great actors and a story to tell. The meaning of the movie is the struggle, it is not their relationship actually. Harper overcomes the struggle and I am sure a lot of people can relate.
I thank the writers, director and all of the actors for making such a great film. Thank you.
