This is a story told with style, with balance. The performances are brilliant. The leads inhabit the characters so sincerely that Maestro seems more a portal in time than it is a movie. Well done on every level with complex interweavings of sound, choreography, staging, and instrumentation such as is fitting for the story of a master of music composition. The details are important here. A very satisfying film and if it doesn’t win the awards then art is truly dead.
