I bought this album after Eric left the Yardbirds and I saw his name on the jacket cover. Bluesbreakers is a transcendent album for the ages. Clapton is still honing his blues skills and so joined the perfect London blues band of that time. John Mayall's group featured, among other artists, John McVie on bass. John would later join fellow Mayall alumni, Mick Fleetwood to form a whole other monster band.
