6/6/2024 - very provocative premise, pronoun usage makes the read cumbersome
Great sci-fi read once able to trade out the non-binary pronoun usage which tends to make the read a bit cumbersome.
Would have been a smoother read had the author chose to just over use the character’s name repeatedly instead of trying to force the unconventional usage of the plural pronoun for a single entity that seems bent on a plural personality, rather than the singular binary choice of the American English grammar definitions.
The moral and ethical implications raised by the subject matter of the “essence of time”, seem real and very much current with the futuristic thought of the subject matter - after all, when a sci-fi idea comes around, it usually follows that it may not be so futuristic…
