I didn't hate it, but I also didn't like it. This was definitely a different kind of batman movie.
Robert Pattinson's Batman seemed like a somewhat okay detective and not the best at any style fighter. I felt like he was going to get killed every time he took on someone, especially when taking on multiple bad guys.
It seemed like there was no use for the cowl, other than to just hide the fact that he is Bruce Wayne contaminating the crime scenes. Some of the scenes where they keep showing his combat boots walking through a swarm of cops, seems like the old Adam West about to put a finger to his chin to solve the riddle.
A souped up muscle car for a bat mobile was interesting if not unlikely for a billionaire. Definitely lower key if not wanting to be recognized while driving around Gotham. Zoe Kravitz was awesome as Catwoman, but her knit hat would have been soaked all the time on her head in Gotham where it seems to rain 99% of the time.
The movie had some good parts and a driving story for 3 hours, but most of these 5 star, sycophant reviews so far seem to be created by the movie company lackeys to boost ticket sales.
I grew up in the 80s reading batman comics and have seen all of the other batman movies. I'm not sure another batman movie was needed after the Dark Knight series was so perfect. This Batman makes me want to watch the Batman Returns movie again to compare Michael Keaton's Batman and Michele Pfeiffer's Catwoman.
I'll probably watch it again when it can be streamed, but only because I want to like it, just like the Justice League, Zack Snyder cut.
