Curtiss Mooney

A bunch of quick-draw/sharp-shooting scenes strung together by a moderately incoherent plot. I have never figured out what the motivation of Jeff Goldblum’s character as ‘the gambler’ was or why he chose one side over the other in the final showdown.

I enjoyed this origin story of the first dog(s) (plural) which result from the bond formed between an injured wolf and a cro-magnon teen when the teen is given up for dead after falling off a cliff during a bison hunt. My own dogs, a Havanese and a Havanese-Maltese cross, recognized the threat at first posed by the wolf on the screen and barked frantically until the friendship between boy and wolf solidified.
