Whoever wrote this had no idea the depths of mental illness. The main character is a spoiled kid who supposedly has stress, anxiety, depression, and magically becomes better after 5 days of hospitalization which is an insult for teens who suffer with suicidal thoughts.
Sure it's a feel good movie, but they could have made it more realistic. Also, the depiction of psych ward hospitalization was so off base I got upset.
It's cute, but baseless, the characters lack depth and the "psych ward" consisted of a mockery of schizophrenia, and depression with a little "cute girl-next-door" self-harm scars for "flare".
