The movie can be a great metaphor for gaslighting and toxic relationships where a partner tries to take control of everything even to the point of making someone question their reality and stay because it's "comfortable" and everything is "fine". I'm not sure if the band's name, "The Dollhouse Brass Band" is a reference to Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House" or to Fiona Davis' "The Dollhouse". If it wasn't, it just seems like a great coincidence how these stories share the same themes of women's role in a highly patriarchal society. I also like how they used ballet in the film which requires synchronization and control. The film is an excellent avenue for people to start discussing seemingly unnoticeable and intangible things like obsession, control, and gaslighting. It showed how some insecure men could go to a point where they'd strip you away of your free will for their own satisfaction, even using children as a way for you to stay and "save the relationship". Lol. Not to generalize though, but it's true in most relationships where women have the upper hand and dominance. The film's concept was really great, but at the end of the film, I just felt like there were so many hints from the start that were never clarified in the end like the moving of the ground, the jobs of the men, the glitch with the eggs, and so much more. Performance-wise, everyone did a really great job, especially Pugh, Styles, and Wilde!
