In comparison to the 2013 edition. It falls very short. It just doesn't reach that level of intensity, suspense and creativity. In comparison to the OG 1-2 evil dead it also doesn't capture the campy comedy in the same tone. It tries to do both and doesn't bring anything new. No interesting or creative deaths or kills. And definitely zero good one liners. I gave it 2 stars because the cinematography, setting, costume design, and sets were very well done. But it loses 3 stars for bland writing, acting, casting, and direction. It's unfortunate. Hopefully the next installment will have a great story and reach that level of intensity I was hoping for. I am however glad people enjoyed it, giving the light to make more.

This is the single greatest horror movie of all time. And I've searched high and low for a movie to make me feel the way this one does. It's bruuutal, and bloody, and dark, and actually scary. And very creative. Also, very rewatchable. The story is great. There isn't a lot of time spent on character development, but it's a horror movie. It gives enough, to know enough, to care JUST enough. Because everyone is gonna die in horrible, terrible, awesome, and creative ways anyway. Blood, soo much blood. More blood than any movie ever. And I'd imagine it will hold that record forever. Right from the start this movie had me captivated. And it finished with the perfect Evil Dead ending. Very bloody, and very awesome. 10/10

To watch this I ignored the obvious them. Believing it's a monster or alien movie, where she injures it and it tries to rebirth itself to regenerate but can't, made it a whole lot more enjoyable. The horror was good. Cinematography was also good.

Severely mediocre and generic. If you didn't read the title you might think it's just another zombie series with bland characters. The only good acting is from the people who played the zombies and the makeup artists who covered them did well. Boring waste of time and a big let down.
