Literally a complete waste of 1.5 hours. If you wanna watch a group of completely forgettable characters dance around for 85% of the film and then act "freaked out" when the drugs kick in, walk into your local rave club. When reading the film synopsis I expected (hoped for) a complete nightmarish descent into violence and madness. Could not have been further from the truth. Totally pointless.

So much fun! This movie didn't follow the usual Will Ferrell comedy path of total ridiculousness and instead felt almost as though anybody could of played his role, meaning that his character wasn't a complete idiot (something Will always plays to perfection). I was surprised to see this and I found that it made the film more of a "musical underdog" story. Rachel Mcadams was heartbreakingly gorgeous and sweet in her role of devoted love interest. And the music was fantastic too. Loved it.

Who would've thought a movie about the day in the life of an assistant would be so mesmerising? I can't even pinpoint why I enjoyed this movie so much other than to say that Julia Garner's performance was brilliant and the moral dilemma she finds herself in is both tense and devastating. Kristine Froseth, who plays the new 'assistant' *cough* was also amazing in her minor-but-oh-so-important role. I could physically feel the change in her demeanor when she returned to the office even though it was so subtle. It was as though the sunshine had gone out of her smile over the course of that one afternoon. Heartbreaking. Great film.
