Been a server and a bartender in CT and in NYC (8 yrs) for a total of 44 yrs. Recognizing all kitchens are different, the kitchen depicted in this show is chaotic, crazy, and over-the-top. Behaviors just do not exist to that degree anymore...maybe in the 70s or 80s...not so much now. That's not to say things don't get heated...just not the pressure cooker blow-up/launchpad of an Apollo mission-type heat. Much exaggeration on display for those viewers who've never experienced the actual adrenaline rush of the nitely dinner rush in a busy eatery.
Not sayin' the raucous verbal volleyball and hellacious disregard for authority among owners, chefs and staff isn't captivating for the viewership...it is...it's kinda like watching a choreographed train wreck in slow motion almost every episode...lol. The acting chops are evident and deserve the accolades.
