This show is a major let down in so many ways. I had high hopes but the show strays so far from the source material that I just couldn't stand it. Although the action scenes were nice they were very sparse and the Chief and Halsey were the only characters who weren't completely altered and even then they have almost no similarities with the games story or the books or lore. This is definitely a case of "who is this for." The die hard fans of 20 years were kicked to the curb and this generic cookie cutter story obviously is not going to appeal to the newer younger audience who would rather just watch Star Wars. And there is no chance anyone older is going to be interested in this. The new story is boring and lacked action which is a main constant in the Halo universe. As far as I can tell this show is a painfully bad adaptation and a slap in the face to many long-time fans out there.
The original story? Totally scrapped. All the original characters? Mostly gone or heavily altered? Blue team? Gone. We didn't even get Sergeant Johnson. The fact that they specifically said they didn't look at the games obviously ruined a great chance to make a quality Halo live action adaptation.
Episode 2 had no action at all and with hour long episodes this show had a huge budget with big time slots but it's got nothing going for it. It felt like a wanna be Star Wars knock off. The Master Chief was just too heavily altered and the depiction of the UNSC as some evil darkside is annoying. Hopefully something interesting happens later in this show because I feel totally abandoned as a fan.
