Sorry, but this entire series is nothing but soft porn with a back-story. The episodes are very slow and tedious to watch. Scenes are lengthened (most likely to make so many episodes) beyond what any normal person could tolerate. The main female character, makes one poor choice of behavior after another that has nothing but bad future outcomes that you can see coming from a mile away. The male lead does the same, so the story line gets more and more ridiculous. We couldn't make it past the very first episode of season 4--where they aid a convicted murderous pirate to freedom, only for him to return and rob them and murder one of their friends. We couldn't take it anymore! I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this series to anyone. We could only watch, at most, one episode per night, per weekend, and with 13+ episodes per season, we've lost a lot of time off of our lives we'll never get back!

I'm sorry, I love Star Trek The Next Generation and all the movies, but this is by far the WORST series in history. Every episode was poorly written, and episodes about the 'alternate universe' were equally as bad with all the acting being painfully attempted as their 'alternate' personalities. You could know what an entire episode was about just by watching the last 5 minutes. All the episodes were so anti-climactic that they led to nothing but disappointment. Every actor (especially Majel Barrett) were just so painful to watch as they read their lines right off of the page without any connection to a character. Avery Brooks would probably be a great Shakespearean actor, but he so over-acted his character that I just can't endorse this version of Star Trek. I don't understand how anyone could blindly rate this entire series higher than 1 star, no matter how die-hard of a fan they are.
