Heaven and earth grocery store. Never did I think that Yiddish and slang and heartfelt historical fiction could live symbiotically in one book. I cried laughed angered and identified with the characters trying to comprehend and apprehend a young deaf black child existing in an autistic pugilistic environment. I was mesmerized throughout the entire story and saddened that the ending had to occur. A fantastic read
