I will preface this by saying that I usually don’t read books written by men. This book is honestly an example of the reason. It is essentially the story of a man-child finally maturing enough to take a look around and start caring about and appreciating other people in his life. This happens in his 40s, which is probably fairly accurate for the real world. The storyline isn’t horrible because the other characters save it.
