The set pieces and costume design were spectacular and really emulated the respective districts. The spaces in plot as well as unnecessary rewrites of important scenes for example Reapers death or Coriolanus's conversation with Strabo Plinth about compensation for rescuing Sejanus from the arena make some of the characters actions seem more spontaneous than they should have, Coriolanus's shift into villainy was so rushed and unpolished and Lucy Gray went from one of the best characters in the book to a literal walking blue tooth speaker, the songs themselves weren't the issue but the amount of times certain songs were repeated made them less enjoyable. All in all it was a decent movie on it's own but compared to the book it's really not that good and it's redeemable only because of set design, costume design, acting performances and casting.
