This is the kind of movie you understand only through similar experiences. Especially if you're still in touch with your old school friends but have totally outgrown them.
The movie gives a lot of insight into how friends grow out of each other so easily when they want different things but still painfully try to hold on to each other just because there's no one else for them. It's easy to say money is not important when you're rich. You have to be in a poor person's place to understand why they do what they do. I think the rich just stay close to their poor friends to constantly feel better about themselves..
