Loving Mcbride's guitar work, no disrespect to Steve Morse who is a fantastic exponent of the instrument, I feel Simon's style is closer to Richie Blackmore and gives Deep Purple the original sound and the edge they once had. That said, the album is a joy to behold, and to quote a line from from one of their well known songs "I love it, I need it". I'm sorry about the tragic circumstances leading to Steve Morse leaving the group but now perhaps we can forget about those big shoes Blackmore left behind, shoes Mcbride is more than capable of filling.
