A manipulative teenage girl on the fringe of her social group uses lies and deceit to get the popular boy she is obscessed with, backstabbing friends along the way. All this is supposed to be ok because she’s plain and overweight and smart and has a half way ok singing voice. Had this been a guy doing this to a girl, the movie would never have been made.

Kept me interested. Didn’t care about any of the characters. It’s a remake of a foreign language film that seems to have lost something in translation. Ended too abruptly so consequences not seen.

An OK read. Nothing remarkable. I bought it at the airport before a long plane ride and it held my interest. It tries to be deep and make a statement on human nature, but never quite gets there.
