I went to see Matilda in late November at the Plaza Cinema in Truro. This was a fantastic movie and a nostalgic throwback to the original 1996 movie. Something that really added to the plot line was *spoiler* Miss Honey's backstory told by Matilda which makes the film more interesting to people who have already read the story. However Matilda's telekinesis powers were skipped over and not given as much recognition as I the original. The singing and dancing was notably impressive especially in "Revolting Children" and Alisha Wier's portrayal of Marilda was very accurate and well developed. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves meaningful yet light hearted theatre.
