Kristin Lavransdatter has been my absolute favourite book ever since I first read it in my 20s (40 years ago!). I am currently re-reading the newer translation by Tina Nunnally, which has a more flowing and empathic prose style, but I miss the diagrams, maps and more accessible footnotes from Archer & Scott's 1920s English translation. Perhaps revised editions can include them.
