If you are a parent, I would introduce the kids to the cartoon Mulan and skip the live action movie. The cartoon Mulan is witty, straight forward, decisive, brave to do the right thing (and hence a natural leader), sensitive, flexible, even funny. The real life version Mulan is granted with super power and plays a victim. She could have won herself a lot more respect in the training camp and easily earned supports. Her abilities are head and shoulder above everyone else, instead of helping others, she isolated herself despite others try to reach out. The witch with that amazing power will have ways she did not have to die. But if it happens so, they can't be victims. And rather important to me, there is no genuine Chinese spirits compared to the cartoon. Really not a fan of the social justice warrior driven writing. The older writing with sense and sensibility is so much more inspiring. #Mulan #Disney #Mushuisessential
