I saw the "mini" trailer on Netflix and I thought "Interesting". The movie was great in the first 50 minutes. it looks good too... But then like many others I concluded there was not point on wasting my precious time in finishing this movie.
Why??
I'll tell you, **** SPOILER ALERT******
Because the main antagonist... the mob boss and his team, were too incompetent to be even believable. I mean come on! you don't need to force the lady out of the nursing home, you have to be more cunning than that.
The contrast between how good they were at deception, before and after the lady was in the nursing home is outstanding. They perfectly fake I identity for more than 40 years, had their secret meetings and They suddenly became very stupid people (after their interaction with the protagonist) is being stupid out of desperation either...
The moment the blond guy came in for a tour! I was like come on! you are not going to see the lady like that... specially if you know how much the main character has been pulling the strings on the system!
The obvious choice for the mob was to hire and old guy to get into the nursing home and contact the old lady, establish a line of communication and then they would be able to screw with the main character. They should have put the main antagonist as clever as her, but noooo, they had to make him do stupid mistakes.
After the nursing home scene everything the mob did was, that, just too stupid... so I knew the movie was downhill from there, I scrolled over and saw her dying in a very unsatisfactory way. Then all the other reviews confirm my prediction...
I honestly didn't care if she lived or died, they were all bad guys, I just wanted a good story but this was just so disappointing.
