I watched this many years after its release and consider it the genuine worthwhile continuation from Terminator 2. I think whereas the other movies weren't terrible (in my view) following the first two classic movies as a film series it was over and this continuation in series form was wonderful. I love the different actors portrayals and the rich story. It's not perfect but it's great and I really wish it had carried on to a great conclusion. Really sad it ended. Definitely a really worthwhile watch for Terminator fans.

I really think this film is excellent and it's sad it didn't get higher viewer watching at the time. It's obviously so different to the standard formula of the franchise before by operating in 'meta'. That is what makes it great. I can see how fans expecting the same may not relate to it and due to it being nightmare on elm street maybe wouldn't have immediately attracted a new following. I can totally respect the views that this is perhaps Wes Cravens masterpiece. As someone who has just seen most of the nightmare on elm streets and all the scream movies I would say this is possibly the best of his films. I think this maybe was the first or one of the first of its type and I can see how it really lead on to the Scream franchise. The whole mood it sets is perfect. Some very gory scenes, a scarier Freddy (which was the original idea) plus some very dark moments and the frightening behaviour of the child. The whole way it intertwines reality with the idea of the making of a fictional film is fantastic. I'd highly recommend this and hope it keeps getting more love and recognition as it deserves. I'd say 'possibly' film to film comparison this is of higher quality than the original Scream and the original Nightmare on Elm street.

I admit I'm being a bit generous giving 4 but I do so because I feel this film got very unfairly slammed. I feel this is a better film than both T3 and salvation. The whole time line shifting is complex but very interesting and new compared to the more simple t 1 and 2. It's more childish than t 1 and 2 being a pg 13. I'd prefer a bit more action and killing more like T2. Arnie is good as pops. I was never so convinced on the chemistry between Sarah and Reese . Also whereas I accept they were both good actors I don't know if they were best suited for this role. The reenactments of the 1984 scenes are good combined with the interventions. One of the cops who witnessed stuff then being involved makes it fun too. So yeah it's flawed but it's fun. I think if you're a fan of T1 and 2 you'd like it as a welcomed 3rd. Until you replace it with Dark fate :)

This is a generous 2. The first is my favourite comedy ever. I found this so disappointing. The opening scene is amazing and in fact I saw no issue with Jim Carrey or Jeff Daniels. They were great. What was terrible was the whole story line and all the other characters. I don't know how the Farelly brothers got it so wrong. It could be something due to the time gone since the first one. Maybe a sequel a few years later could've been better. Still though there seems little excuse for such a bad storyline and also just major things where as a watcher you can't help but think... I'm sure they could've made X y z funnier.

A very good solid show. I'm giving a slightly generous 4. I do think overall the show is just a little over rated.

I could have been generous and gave it 3 but 1 and 2 would be more fair. I saw it with my 11 year old nephew who had a laugh so that made it worthwhile. It's such a strange silly film. Definitely a few laughs but the whole concept of the little kid going to war with his nice old granddad for staying in his room is just beyond bizarre. Strange how really cool actors and actresses are in it too. I wonder what they were thinking when they saw the script. Plus it's strange how Uma Thurman seems particularly bad in it too. It's like she's unsure (maybe like viewers) what the tone of the film is meant to be. It's such a strange mishmash. My nephew and me left after having a few laughs and joking about us playing those pranks on each other. That made it worthwhile. Overall not a good watch. Would've felt a waste of money and time if watched alone or with anyone else.

I'm giving a slightly generous 4. It is definitely the best after t 1 and 2. The protector character is great and I loved how she was enhanced so part terminator. It was also great to see Sarah Conner back. I thought it was an all round 'good' film. It was great to throwback to just after T2 and forget about the others temporarily. -There are things about it though and how it all goes which didn't sit great though. It's a good film. It's not outstanding like T1 and 2 -The start scene completely wipes out everything vital about T1 and 2. Does it mean that just always someone else can rise again to be the new leader? - I found Arnie's terminator which he as usual played well to be a bit odd. One article said it reminded him of Rik and Morty episode. I can see where this was coming from. I think a tougher story would've been better eg him being some kind of soldier. I remember reading an interesting idea that Arnie could have played not a terminator but more just a soldier in the war whose image for whatever reason the t800s were based on. I think that could've been cool. -the bad terminator is good but not outstanding. Not a Robert Patrick. All in all I feel it's a good film which could have been done better still though a solid best after the first 2. I feel for me a thing with terminator is that it was never (as far as I know) a big universe film eg like star wars with episode 4 then all the others. The original film is super simple then the follow up second. Both amazing . It could've ended there. I enjoy all the terminator movies but for me none of the others really add anything to any overall big terminator story because their never was one. I feel it's like two amazing films then there's these other stories about what maybe could happen next but I don't think that there's more story to tell because it was never meant to be that type of film in the first place. I can't help but feel more terminator films will likely just fall under this same category. If there is another I'd like a solid good John Conner figure, more of Linda hamilton and Arnie in a more solid role. I can't help but feel after the bad reviews of this (which I feel is quite a lot down to fatigue if the franchise) that they may leave it.
