Perhaps it was coming off a fantastic biopic like Oppenheimer or being a fan of most Ridley Scott movies, I really wanted to see this. I wished I had skipped!
The pros: the sets, impressive battle scene scope and exquisite costumes.
Besides that, usually impressive Joaquin played Napoleon wooden and awkward, perhaps a choice but made it a hard character to engage with and carry the film on. The pacing of events and what was left o I t and put in was a slog. Made the 2hrs and 37 minutes feel like an almost 4hr film.
One lady at the end exclaimed "thank God!" As in Thank God it's over. a sentiment ourgroup all shared.
