To all these people giving this show negative reviews, it feels like we didn't watch the same show.
To put it simply, resident evil tells a solid story, and it tells it well. I'm not claiming this show is perfect, but it keeps you interested in what's going on. It is a good zombie apocalypse movie, but the plot isn't tied just to the zombie genre. The characters are real and human, and the plot is furthered more by their own faults than by the zombies themselves.
There are plenty of small parts they could have done better, but a 2.3 on Google reviews is completely unreasonable.
Anyone claiming that this show is somehow lobbying any kinda antivaxxer argument, clearly didn't actually watch the show, or at least give it a fair shake.
This show is primarily an action drama thriller in a dystopian world, and doesn't really make any strong commentary. That being said, if you really want to read into it, the only commentary I see is on how drug companies put capitalist gain over the health and safety of the population. I think that that is a realistic perspective. They comment on COVID in the past, but there is never anything remotely antivax said in the show.
