literally the most depressing movie I've ever watched. i couldn't sleep after this, thankfully its been long enough where I don't remember its details but to say its a movie to bum you out is a severe understatement. only watch if you're prepared to hate everything lol. I don't even know what rating to give because its so well made, unstylised in that glossy hollywood fashion and realistic that it has to have 5 stars but its grim, so horrifying and gut retching at times that, ngl, i could never watch it again so the sake of my sanity. I will never forget this movie, it really puts all those corny post apocalyptic movies to shameeee. POTENTIAL SPOILERS; apparently in the book the ending is even more grim than in the movie, as far as i remember, the ending has a slight glimmer of hope which i appreciate from the director because jesus h christ. Its still a depressing (for lack of better words) and horrifying ending scene.
