BRILLIANT.
Mark Rylance gives a master class in an Oscar worthy performance. The supporting cast is also excellent.
Set in 50s Chicago, the ambiance and tone felt true and accurate…and I’m from Chicago. The story is a little slow to start, but give it 10 min. and you won’t be sorry. Enough twists and turns to keep you thinking until the last frame. I literally could not take my eyes off the screen. And THAT is what makes a great movie - story, story, story. And Mark Rylance.
Director Graham Moore demonstrates masterly control on the performers, the sets, and the timing. Deliciously film noir.
Has some fairly graphic gore, so I wouldn’t recommend for anyone under 16.
Has been added to my long list of favorite movies, even though I know the twists. Will watch many times over.
