Ok so it’s not just me; thank God. This is my 2nd time trying this book. I’m a huge Michael Connelly fan and after finishing the Bosch series twice, wanted to try something new. I first started this book in 2021 and got to maybe ch 5. I ran across it again the other day and decided to try it once more since the synopsis is compelling enough. No. This book is trash. I’m on chapter 12 and am so confused! Literally the first 12 chapters are full of nothing but exposition and manuals on how to lift weights. The main character’s ability to constantly go off on tangents about ppl and environments that have nothing to do w the case whatsoever is astounding. I’ll assume they solved the case of the mule and she lived to fight another day.
