Your show with Jim and Liz is incredibly ridiculous! Look @ the behavior of kids before the don’t spank, reason with your kids philosophy of the 70s and the behavior now. Teens today are so out of control that they dictate to their parents, authority and anyone they don’t agree with. Everyone I knew growing up were happy kids that turned out to be respected members of society and raised their kids the same way and their grandchildren are being raised the same way. We would never think of disobeying and would laugh about what would happen if we did. We have two attorneys and an international business owner who also has a daughter that is an attorney. My children also raised their children with “Spare the rod, spoil the child” philosophy and my great grandchildren are being raised the same way. The whole family has so much love and respect for each other that they all talk everyday. There are family gatherings that are attended by all and near weekly game nights. Our kids call everyday to see how we’re doing and our grandchildren and great grandchildren also call, but not daily. We reprimanded and spanked and then took them aside and explained why they got spanked. Our home was loving and we don’t have a druggie or law breaker in the bunch and they all go to church services and other church gatherings and are excited to go. All the kids have gone to Christian schools and were always on the honor role, including our grade school greats. This has definitely worked for us and our kids, in their 50s, who laugh and tell stories about how great growing up was. Finally, I think poor Jim has had a wife that was not supportive in keeping their kids respectful of their father and it definitely shows. He’s had a lonely parenting job with a nonsupporting wife and in my opinion she has sabotaged the family. You can’t let kids be raised by their peers or more times than not they’ll be on the wrong path.
