It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, they just wanted something different. It's a character study like the first one and it's very sad and more tragic than the 1st. The movie is basically if you dragged the joker onto a chair and broke him down and got all the answers. Whereas everyone was expecting this movie to be the joker building an empire or something. Funnily enough, the hate for this movie plays extremely well into a main message of this movie. Maybe people understand that and are tired of directors being pretentious.. but what you got is a well made drama and in the end a gritty sad and real-feeling interpretation of joker and harley.
