I'm sorry to say, this really does not stand the test of time. I'm giving it 2 stars because it provided more than a few laughs - although they were definitely unintentional - at the wooden acting, the crazy casting and the outrageous stretches of imagination required to continue watching to the end. Yes, the 'special effects' are very, very dated, but you have to forgive them because it was the best they had at the time, but the choreography of the fight scenes though? - embarrassingly bad. Lambert's character had a very annoying way of looking up with his chin down which made his eyes look so deep-set it made you wonder if one of his superpowers was the ability to see out the back of his head! Fantastic to hear Queen rocking out the soundtrack though, and Connery was very easy on the eyes although Egyptian/Spanish whatever he was supposed to be, was just a stretch too far. Highland scenery - stunning, of course. Still not there worst film out there, but sadly it ranks pretty low.
